About Olo

Olo helps restaurant brands maximize revenue per square foot by delivering faster, more accurate, and more personal service to their customers.

Morevoer, Olo was born out of a simple idea: What if you could order and pay for a coffee from your phone and have it ready upon arrival at the cafe? We got to work in 2005, sending text message orders to printers—two years before the iPhone would change the world.

Pros

"The culture and the people are hands down the best thing about Olo. In my particular position, I feel the salary is on par. The benefits are great and for those saying they aren't, please find me another job with free health, dental and vision insurance. Management, at least in my case, listens to their team(s) and really values us as people. Just because your idea didn't get used doesn't mean they didn't listen. The DEI team is amazing and Olo tries very hard to offer plenty of social time and activities for remote workers. I love working from home, so for me it is a pro and I would not want a job where I had to go into the office. Having the week off between Christmas and New Year's Day is just another bonus they give us."

Cons

"1. There are a lot of unnecessary tools. Many of our tools are multifunctional, yet we use them for only one function. It is very frustrating. 2. Olo is losing the culture that we once had with the IPO and explosive growth. I guess that is to be expected, but it is a con. 3. There are teams that are struggling with the workload and no relief in sight. 4. 20 days of PTO is fabulous, but there are no additional sick days. 20 days doesn't go as far as you'd think if you are sick, have sick children or other family members, want to participate in community or family activities and take a vacation."

Advice to Management

"Please try to keep the culture as long as we can. Please let us have work meetups in person soon."

Pros

"TWork from home option. Family first. Take care of yourself and bring the rest to Olo. Great benefits - pay, 401k, stock option, stock awards, generous time off, health coverage, etc. C-Team personable. CEO personally meets with each new hire with in a month or two of joining. Great training opportunities before one ventures on their own."

Cons

"While a scrappy mentality is great, scrappy didn’t cut it when there was a company lay off. Last hired and first to go. New employees didn’t even given a chance to shine or even placed in a new role where the employee and employer could have benefited. Layoff phone call was cold, no real reason for why person (you) was on the chopping block, cut off from all access and couldn’t even gather personal records saved from being hired, employee recognition emails from customers or staff. Olo made it seems the company was profitable and there wouldn’t be any concerns for a company layoff when many companies were doing layoffs. No reimbursement for item’s purchased for working at home. Docking stations, keyboard &mouse, headset/wireless phone, internet stipend, per diem for company meet ups."
