Be Intellectually Honest
We embrace reality. We apply high-quality thinking and rigor and operate with transparency. We have courage in our convictions but work hard to ensure biases or personal beliefs do not get in the way of finding the best solution.

What it's like to work at MongoDB?
Pros
"Great product and long standing leadership has made great decisions for the business."
Cons
"The core leadership team CEO & CFO/COO remain strong but as the company grows it is has been making weak leadership hires and beginning to operate as a large company. We are seeing a lot of people leave because of this. Also the intellectual honesty is disappearing. Instead of doing lay offs like every other company in the tech space, they are having bar raising, then underperforming conversations and managing people out as a result. Feels like a way to reduce the size and operating costs of a company without having to pay people severance packages."
Advice to Management
"Just be honest and do a respectful lay off."

What it's like to work at MongoDB?
Pros
"If you enjoy learning, and growing, MongoDB is the place for you! I have had opportunities to see how the digital world connects using both commercial products and open-source products. MongoDB feels like it is at the center of it all! With support and exposure to many different programming languages, this experience has allow me to become a programmer polyglot. Hardware performance analysis, and configuration are critical tools. Exposure to major cloud providers, such as AWS, Azure, and GCP is exciting and cutting edge. Use of deployment tools, such as Terraform, Kubernetes, etc. become a default go-to strategy for managing infrastructure-as-code. Security concepts are routinely considered, such as encryption at rest with on-prem or cloud Key Management Systems, or as targeted as automatic field level encryption. Use of Federated authentication mechanisms, such as SAML, or OAUTH are in play, as is Kerberos, and/or LDAP. High peformance is a key concept all while managing High Availability with replica sets and distributed data. I could go on, but I think you get the point. It's very exciting and very cool. I have been here for a bit and I really enjoy myself!"
Cons
"If you read my PROs you will notice I said a lot. This means the learning curve is fast and steep, but incredibly rewarding."
Advice To Management
"Our management is top-notch. We continue to thrive, even in difficult times. Our management does a great job keeping moral high. I suggest they keep doing what they do best, and what they are already doing! Keep the energy high! Lets Go!"
