Our mission is to enable GCP customers to understand, visualize, implement, and operate their GCP database infrastructure.
Cloud Databases is a collection of Cloud database offerings that enables customers to build and deploy faster, deliver transformative applications, and maintain portability and control of data.
In this role, you will be responsible for working with engineering and product management to document new features. You'll also update the docs to address customer feedback and internal bug reports. You'll have access to a larger team of writers in the Cloud iX organization, with opportunities to collaborate around tools, process, and innovation.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $144,000-$221,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Plan, design, write, and publish technical documentation for a Cloud Database service including critical customer user journeys, concepts, and how-to guides for enterprise customers.
- Work closely with PMs, Engineering Leads, UX researchers, and User Interface partners to identify the critical user journeys and create information architectures that help customers through those journeys.
- Collaborate with the Cloud Database writers to continually refine ways of working to deliver a excellent customer experience.
- Work with functional partners to manage and prioritize the technical writing workload.
- Mentor and support other writers on the Cloud Databases team.

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Technical communications or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in technical writing.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with Databases, SQL, NoSQL, and Cloud products.
- Experience in a relevant role, producing technical documentation for a technical audience, ideally for enterprise cloud services.
- Proficiency with HTML or markdown; proficiency in a Unix environment.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, support multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven communication and teamwork skills and strong initiative.
