The Netflix Apple TV App Team is a small but mighty team responsible for building the best streaming experience for our Apple TV customers. The team delivers exceptional quality across all aspects of the tech stack, from low-level encoding work to high-level UI changes. We are a group of highly skilled engineers who self-navigate through various problems to deliver complex solutions quickly and with extremely high quality.
We are looking for a talented Apple TV or iOS Software Engineer to join our team and help us build the next wave of innovation on the Netflix Apple TV App. As a team member, you will be responsible for building robust and scalable solutions within all areas of the technical stack, such as high-level UI and low-level infrastructure. You will be required to self-organize project delivery, work with Senior Engineers to gather and define requirements and execute complex projects.
More about You:
- Experience building iOS or Apple TV applications
- Proficiency in Swift and Objective-C
- Experience with Apple's software development tools (Xcode, Instruments, etc.)
- Knowledge of Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and best practices for designing intuitive user interfaces
- Experience with UIKit, AVFoundation, and other relevant frameworks
- Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Apple TV apps
- Work with Senior Engineers to collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, product) to define app features and user experiences
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
- Continuously improve app performance and user experience
What sets you apart:
- Experience with video and audio streaming technologies (HLS, MPEG-DASH)
- Knowledge of media formats and codecs (AAC, AVC, HEVC)
- Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks
- Familiarity with web technologies.
