Remote Job Description

We want you to be part of our APAC Legal team! As the Senior Paralegal for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, you will report to the Associate General Counsel, APAC, and serve as valuable resource and support to multiple legal and foundational teams. You will work very closely with the other members of the APAC Legal team, as well as the global Legal team. This role is based in Singapore.

A Typical Day:

  • Act as an effective and trusted resource to the fast-paced and high-performing Airbnb APAC Legal team. 
  • Review, manage and triage commercial contracts on behalf of the APAC Legal team. 
  • Effectively collaborate with global counterparts to develop and improve contract management systems and processes design.  
  • Work with legal compliance specialist to maintain the corporate secretarial portfolio (including ensuring statutory audit compliance) for the Airbnb APAC entities in Singapore, India, China, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Thailand and Australia. 
  • Manage billing for the APAC Legal team via internal tooling, including vendor/matter/invoice/accruals management. 
  • Effectively collaborate with global counterparts to design and implement processes to improve budget tracking and administration.  
  • Conduct training on tool or software usage/other relevant processes for the APAC Legal team. 
  • Actively participate in global legal operational workstreams, to provide an APAC perspective and collaborate with global counterparts to design relevant solutions.   
  • Work with the Community Support team to manage customer complaints and dispute escalations, including small claims tribunal matters.
  • Conducting litigations checks. 
  • Provide ad-hoc administrative support to the APAC Legal team.  
Your Expertise:

  • Fluency (reading/writing/speaking) in English is essential.
  • Minimum 10 years’ relevant paralegal experience with law firms and MNCs, preferably in the tech / digital space.
  • Demonstrated strong skills developing, implementing, and managing processes and workflows. 
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in mastering internal tooling, including developing training and processes to enable efficient use of tools.   
  • Ability to identify areas of opportunity to improve efficiency and team cohesion, and take action to achieve results. 
  • Self-starter, driven and able to work autonomously while prioritizing competing tasks in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work with all levels of the organization, and to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
  • Intellectually curious, open-minded, adaptable, and excited by dynamic change.
  • Highly collaborative with excellent communication and listening skills.

  • International travel may be required.
