The Mediavine Marketing and Communications team is currently looking to fill the open position of Marketing Manager.

The Marketing Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing the wide array of projects and events undertaken by the team to ensure they are completed on time and to the Mediavine standard of excellence. They are the first point of contact for all work tickets that we receive and are charged with “running the board” of work requests, returning to the requester for more information and facilitating kickoff meetings when necessary. The Marketing Manager will also further develop the existing ordering system to fully integrate with all departmental assignments. They will plan and designate project resources, monitor progress and keep stakeholders informed the entire way. They are also the keeper of the MarComm calendar, gathering release dates for products, features and content. In this role, with the help of your team you will plan and facilitate in-person and virtual events where Mediavine has a presence.
The Marketing and Communications team is responsible for branding and promoting Mediavine’s many product offerings, from full service ad management to WordPress plugins. We’re also responsible for producing collateral for every other Mediavine department, from the Sales team’s pitch deck to a perks one-sheeter for People Ops. In addition, MarComm produces all of Mediavine’s educational content (including blog posts, Facebook Lives, videos, emails, social media and a podcast), as well as all events, both in person and digital.
The Marketing Manager is on the MarComm team, reporting directly to the VP of Marketing & Communications. They manage project management as well as events with their small pod.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Determine and define project scope and objectives for everything under the Marketing and Communications team’s purview
- Assess resources needed to reach objectives, managing those resources in an effective and efficient manner
- Develop and manage a detailed project schedule, calendar and work plans
- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments and progress
- Plans for, allocates, tracks and reports on people resources and level of effort
- Track project costs in order to meet budget
- Utilize industry best practices, techniques and standards throughout entire project execution
- Manage Mediavine’s in person and virtual event/conference presence, including overseeing budget, swag, travel, etc.
- Manage event coordination and support, to include assigned staff
- Collaborate with internal teams in the planning for and usage of creative and communications content for events
- Manage the collection of speaker proposals for internal and external events
- Oversee the logistics for marketing inventory and physical assets from company swag to conference booth materials
- Measure project performance and utilize retrospectives to identify and implement opportunities for improvement
- Manage a small team of direct reports, providing them with weekly 1:1 meetings, goals and regular feedback on their progress
- Manage the MarComm team’s procedural documentation library, streamlining existing procedures and creating new documentation as needed
- Manage the MarComm team’s master calendar
- Required travel on an as needed basis, for our annual All Hands Retreat, MarComm Retreat(s) and industry events/conferences (approx. 15%)
- Other tasks may be assigned as needed
Requirements
Location:
- Applicants must be based in the United States
You Have:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or a related field
- 7+ years of progressive experience in digital marketing
- 5+ years of experience managing Marketing projects
- 3+ years of experience as a manager with direct reports
- Experience with marketing event management
- Ability to collaborate well and work together remotely; keeping in touch when co-working on projects
- Current experience in one or more of the following industries; Ad Tech, Media/Online Publishing, Marketing and Advertising
- Experience with Google Workspace and Slack, required
- Experience with productivity and collaboration tools such as Notion and/or Airtable, preferred
- Experience with project management software tools, methodologies and best practices
- Proven experience with people management to include performance management, coaching and career development
- Proven ability to successfully complete a project from start to finish, according to outlined scope, budget and timeline
- Experience developing and implementing new project management systems, a plus
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Experience with proofreading
- Flexible with a proven ability to solve problems creatively
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong diplomacy, interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
- Ability to travel up to approx 15%
