Remote Job Description
Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison to Google's new technology teams, understanding project requirements and assessing product technologies, going on site to manufacturers, five days a week.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership throughout the product lifecycle, and provide feedback on design for excellence.
- Drive the manufacturing partner to develop and distribute manufacturing documentation (e.g., BOM, Assembly Drawings, Manufacturing Work Instructions, Tooling/Jig) in support of product design, configuration, process, and build requirements.
- Establish, deliver, and maintain the manufacturing, quality processes, and standards for Google's technologies, leveraging existing tools and processes at our Manufacturing Partner.
- Provide on-site support for New Product Introduction (NPI) builds, ensuring manufacturing line readiness from Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) to System Integration, and drive yield bridge analysis to improve overall product quality.
