Remote Job Description
The Airbnb Hotels team, which includes HotelTonight, is looking for a Business Operations and Strategy Lead with a passion for building a next generation hospitality & booking platform loved by guests and hotel partners. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a fun, entrepreneurial, start-up team where you can have outsized impact -- all under the Airbnb umbrella. An effective collaborator, you will frequently engage with senior leadership and other departments within HotelTonight & Airbnb to drive cross-functional business initiatives. At the same time, you should be an independent operator - comfortable defining ambitious success metrics and effectively delivering against them. This role reports to the General Manager of HotelTonight.
A Typical Day:
Strategy and Analysis
- Strategic thought leader who will collaborate with stakeholders to articulate the vision for the Hotels business and build investment cases to support growth
- Support executive decisions, projects and prioritization with data and analysis
- Lead ideation sessions with cross functional teams to shape roadmap, receive feedback and deliver on business strategy
- Support hotel revenue / margin strategy decisions across HotelTonight and Hotels on Airbnb
- Responsible for development of a holistic hotels database (“Hotel Universe”) in partnership with Data Science and engineering
- Work with FP&A + Data Science to identify areas of opportunity for focus and growth
- Responsible for maintaining rate competitiveness insights with support from data engineering
- Build relevant business and operational reports using Looker, SQL and other analytics tools
Team Operations and Organizational Management
- Ensure the Hotels operating system is implemented, maintained and improved; maintain OS alignment with Airbnb field organizations and regional stakeholders
- Collaborate with Hotels leadership team to set and maintain OKRs
- Support with regular team comms, such as monthly executive updates, all hands and other leadership updates
- Partner with stakeholders to develop a roadmap for executing against strategic priorities
- Manage large team meeting agendas, preparation and on time delivery of materials
- Ensure the right meetings take place at the right time with the appropriate agenda to effectively run day-to-day operations
Your Expertise:
- 10+ years of professional experience with a focus on business strategy, ecommerce or marketplaces
- 5+ years experience working in sales organizations (preferably in travel)
- Problem solver - critical thinker with demonstrated ability identifying and solving complex business problems
- Communicator - clearly and effectively communicate with senior stakeholders
- Collaborator - track record of collaborating with and influencing cross functional partners
- Storyteller - ability to translate complex findings and results into a simple, compelling narrative
- Closer - familiarity with leading complex and/or cross-functional projects from start to finish
- Comfortable performing data analysis and using objective data to make decisions

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
