Remote Job Description


Snowe is seeking a highly motivated, analytical, and experienced controller to lead and build our accounting and financial capabilities, overseeing the next chapter of Snowe’s growth. The ideal candidate is well-rounded and can balance the strategic components of forecasting, planning, and management along with the executional components of day-to-day accounting processes.

As the first in-house hire of this sort, this role will report directly to the Co-Founder/Co-CEO and work closely with our external accounting team and finance partners.

Our NYC-based team is currently operating remotely. For this role, we are open to candidates who wish to work remotely indefinitely. We are open to applicants interested in part time or full time positions.


  • Direct and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including closing the books, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP, alongside our external accounting team and finance partners
  • Own cash flow planning and management
  • Create accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal leadership team and external partners such as investors
  • Own company’s financial planning & analysis with layers for sensitivities, by evaluating business cases and providing strategic decision support to leadership
  • Create usable framework for departmental-level budgets and forecasts as well as track performance against operating budget
  • Compare performance actuals with plan forecasts and strategically interpret results
  • Establish critical internal controls and policies such as expense authorizations, tracking, and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with all government reporting requirements and economic-nexus sales tax filings

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA a plus
  • 7+ years of accounting or financial planning experience
  • Experience in retail, ecommerce, or direct-to-consumer preferred
  • Experience with economic nexus and multi-state sales tax preferred
  • Skilled at managing cross-functional partners and stakeholders; experience directly managing a team a plus
  • Expertise in Excel with the ability to build clear accounting and financial schedules
  • Deep understanding of all aspects of a P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
  • Strong communication skills: capable of translating complex concepts to team members of all levels and tying financials to company strategy
  • Innately a self starter with a high degree of autonomy and capable of managing up
  • Exceptional attention to detail and passionate about precision
  • Willingness to roll-up sleeves to take on nitty-gritty executional tasks that come with an early-stage company
