Remote Job Description

Signal Private Messenger is hiring a Support Specialist to help make private communication simple. If you care about user experience as much as you care about user privacy, you should fit right in. This role is an opportunity to have an immediate impact while working closely with a talented team to identify user friction points and share new features to millions of users.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate diplomatically with users to provide accurate and timely user support across multiple channels of feedback
  • Report reproducible issues that are not already reported by the existing community on public channels and prioritize these issues based on situational urgency
  • Translate qualitative user issues into quantitative information to identify friction points with the user experience
  • Collaborate with engineering teams via Signal to identify the root issue and obtain detailed error reporting from users, if necessary

Useful Skills

  • Excitement for problem-solving balanced with building empathy for the user
  • Highly organized, self-starter comfortable with Android, iOS platforms
  • Familiarity with general social media platforms
  • Fluency in written English, additional spoken or written languages can be beneficial
  • Previous experience supporting users or roles with patience and a sense of humor
