Remote Job Description

We’re looking for a motivated, curious, engaged, experienced person who is looking to continue to build the She+ Geeks Out community online and in-person through marketing, communications, PR, and advertising. The right person for this job geeks out about engaging with people through a variety of digital platforms in order to motivate, inspire, lift up, and support women+ from all walks of life, and cares deeply about creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace for all.

What you’ll be doing
There will be no such thing as a typical day in this role, but what we can tell you is that you’ll be responsible for a lot of really important things that will truly make a difference in people’s lives. You’ll be focusing on the following:

  • Create and iterate on a social media strategy and execute based on performance metrics, which you will own
  • Develop and execute on an editorial calendar which will include blog posts, newsletters, social media posts, video, podcasts, and any other SGO content or announcements
  • Run community webinars
  • Write community blog posts and newsletters
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase website conversions
  • Work with staff to develop video and podcast content
  • Engage with the community via our social media channels - posting, liking, commenting, replying, etc.
  • Develop marketing materials to showcase the community
  • Engage with partners to grow the She+ Geeks Out presence (this could be press, influencers, community members, etc)

We’re based in Boston and have a presence in San Diego, and we are open to remote work as well. We want the right person for the job, regardless of location!


What you’ll be bringing to this job

  • Several years experience with professional use of social media (interpreting analytics, knowing what works and what doesn’t)
  • Experience with Google Analytics and SEO
  • Experience with WordPress and HubSpot
  • Incredible communication skills - you are empathetic and relational by nature
  • A passion for writing fun and pithy content
  • A love of relationship-building and networking - both in person and online
  • An eye for detail
  • A curious mind that works efficiently and isn’t afraid to ask questions or to try new things
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Efficiency and self-starting qualities (Do you see something broken? Are there ways to streamline processes? Can you think outside the box?)

Nice to haves:

  • Experience fostering online communities
  • Involvement in groups that support underrepresented and marginalized groups of people
  • Experience in or a willingness to learn and dive deep into HubSpot and Google Analytics
  • Experience with using Canva, Asana, Slack, Zoom, Google Suite, and SurveyMonkey
  • A love for learning new tech
